Tamil magazine Vikatan covers Chennai Pride 2011 :

Translation : “We are here, we are queer, get used to it” Thousands of homosexuals marched in the Marina beach singing, dancing and rejoicing. They demanded that IPC Section 377, criminalising homosexuality be scrapped. There were placards that said “We treat animals with compassion, why not human beings?”, “Love has several forms, who are we to make rules for love?” among others. The one that touched everyone, was the placard that said “I support my son”, carried by a mother who marched with her son in support.
