Upcoming Events

Events listed in June and July include official events of Chennai Rainbow Pride 2019 organised by one or more members of the Tamil Nadu Rainbow Coalition.

A partial list of events slated for 2019 Pride includes the Vannangal cultural performance event, a mental health workshop on queer relationships, awareness raising events for media, students and other groups, and literary events.  Please see full list here.

Orinam events

Orinam events include monthly book readings through the QUiLT (Queer(ing) Literature) sessions that alternate between Tamil- and English- language material. We have a film festival, Reel Desires, Chennai International Queer Film Festival, organised in July in partnership with other local groups. Besides these regular events, there are occasional workshops, and meet-ups  with visiting community members, media people, writers and researchers. Orinam is among the co-organisers of events associated with Chennai Rainbow Pride such as the Vannangal cultural performance event and the Pride march.
